Shri Guatam Buddha, the chief guest during 2nd year World Packaging Day Celebration on March 24, 2013 has said that this is the special day for Packaging Professional and expressed thanks to Hyderabad Chapter of IIP Alumni Association. He believes that this event has been celebrated across the country and Thousands of packaging professionals, current students and various packaging industrialists have pledged their support towards this cause.

Last year For the first time in history, Pack Walk (March for Packaging) was performed by around 500 packaging students and professionals on 24th March, 2012. 

 

This year, due to security concern, Alumni decided unanimously to go evening celebrations at A-Lounge, Madinaguda-Hyderabad where several plastics, corrugated boxes and machinery manufacturers associations supported the event. 

This event was sponsored by M/s Temple Packaging and the Event was anchored successfully by Mr. Tridip.

Mr. Barun Dey Secretary –IIP Alumni association welcomed the guests and stress the commitment.

Mr. B K Karna, ex-President, IIP Alumni Association expressed sincere thanks to Mr. Barun, Mr. Manish, Mr.Vinay, Mr. Shekhar Dash, Mr. Sourabh Mitra, Mr. Tridip, and 71 alumni member for organizing 2nd year World Packaging Day. He stressed that Packaging Profession is the need for Society and  explained about the importance of this day.

Among eminent personalities, Shri S S Raju, CMD Progressive Packaging   said that the packaging industry plays a very important role in industrial & economical development of the country. “In the era of retail world, packaging not only protects the product but also plays a vital role in terms of attraction, communication and brand promotion. It also gives value addition, brings cost reduction and enhances the shelf life of any commodity goods,” he added.

 Shri Chakravarthi AVPS, Chairman, Indian Institute of Packaging- Hyderabad and Managing Director, Ecobliss has said tha Packaging is his passion and he loves to participate in Packagingevents and he wishes GooD Luck for All Packaging Professionals.

Shri Hemadri, Shri Avinsah Talwar, Mr.Shankar, Sanjeev Jaggi, Suniel Kaul  have  expressed their views and they were happy to know that INDIA MARKED WORLD PACKAGING DAY FIRST in History .   “The Indian packaging industry is growing at 14-15% annually, and this growth rate is expected to double in the next two years. Indian Packaging industry is USD 14 billion and growing at more than 15% p.a. These figures indicate towards a change in the industrial and consumer set up,”  

The event became a grand success, in a sense it evoked great response from general public, and succeeded in creating awareness on Packaging. On this special evening, this was celebrated with a cake cutting ceremony. An interactive summit of users and vendors of packaging, attended by more than 130 delegates, was also organized on the occasion.
